Jamie Lewis

MD

As a board certified physician in both Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a subspecialty in Pain Medicine, Dr. Jamie Lewis treats patients throughout Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. Dr. Lewis received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, Riverside and subsequently earned his Doctor of Medicine from Loma Linda University School of Medicine. While continuing his clinical training, Dr. Lewis completed an internship in Internal Medicine, a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and a fellowship in Pain Management at Loma Linda University and affiliated hospitals. Not only is Dr. Lewis the medical director of Northwest Spine and Pain Medicine, but he also acts as the medical director of the Structured Intensive Multidisciplinary Pain Program at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute in Spokane, Washington.

Ghassan Nemri

MD

Dr. Nemri is a graduate of Minsk State Medical University. He completed an Anesthesiology residency program at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, then continued to further his specialization in Pain Management by completing a fellowship program at the same institution.  He is Board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Management.  Dr. Nemri practiced Anesthesia and Pain Management for several years in the largest pain management group in Northwest Indiana and the Greater Chicago area before moving to Washington State to be closer to his family. Dr. Nemri’s extensive experience has brought many patients the expertise of a compassionate caring physician.

Howard Grattan

MD

Dr. Grattan is a fellowship trained and double board certified pain management and physical medicine and rehabilitation physician. His training was completed at Loma Linda University known for a focus on whole person care. He uses this training to address the multiple facets of the patients’ lives that are contributing to their suffering. Dr. Grattan uses multiple diagnostic and treatment modalities to accomplish functional improvements above and beyond pain control, including NCS/EMG, fluoroscopically guided injections and radiofrequency ablation to name a few. He is comfortable treating all painful conditions and works to minimize opioid pain medications.

Xiang “Shawn” Jing

ARNP, MSN

Xiang Jing, “Shawn”, graduated with his MSN from Gonzaga University in 2014. This education instilled in him strong values, a view of learning as sharing, and a desire to empower others while respecting their dignity. He joined Northwest Spine and Pain Medicine after enjoying a variety of medical settings, including long-term care, cardiology, medical-surgical, ICU, and oncology units in the Spokane area. He enjoys collaborating with a multidisciplinary team that provides safe and patient-centered quality care to the local community.

Susan Steadman

ARNP, MSN

Prior to finding her home at Northwest Spine and Pain Medicine, Susan Steadman spent 21 years as a critical care nurse and more recently provided primary care access to the underserved in Springdale, Washington’s rural community. Susan received her MSN degree from Gonzaga University’s Family Nurse Practitioner program in May of 2015. She takes great pride in treating the “whole person” and values the unique opportunity at NWSPM to provide comprehensive pain management, while surrounded by an outstanding team of professionals. We are happy to report that Susan’s patients instantly trust and adore her! Also worth noting, Susan is the proud pet owner of Jeffery, her friendly and affectionate camel.

Patricia Fernandez

PsyD

After completing her doctorate degree in Psychology, Dr. Fernandez completed post doctorate training at the University of Southern California. Dr. Fernandez currently teaches in the psychology department at Gonzaga University and serves as staff psychologist at Northwest Spine and Pain Medicine.

Megan Russell

PsyD

Dr. Russell received her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University.  She completed an APA-accredited internship at the Arizona State Hospital and subsequently a postdoctoral residency in clinical neuropsychology.  As a staff psychologist at Northwest Spine and Pain Medicine, she provides psychotherapy and assessment services for patients with psychological and emotional factors impacting their chronic pain management and/or physical functioning as well as pre-surgical psychological evaluations.  Dr. Russell is committed to providing compassionate patient care and utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

David Springer

PT

David Springer is an orthopedic board certified physical therapist, trained in manual therapy.  He completed his schooling in 1998 in Southern California, and subsequently completed a manual therapy training module within the clinical residency program of Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles.  His initial experience, before returning to the northwest, was serving at a multidisciplinary pain management and out patient rehabilitation center.  Additional work environments have included acute and chronic out-patient orthopedic management, corporate ergonomics, custom seating and mobility systems, in-patient acute care, vestibular rehab, as well as post surgical management in the home setting.  His practice skills utilize manual therapy and prescriptive exercise for soft tissue healing and normalizing musculoskeletal movement to meet the individualized goals of his patients.  David’s personal interests involve guitar, running, most anything outdoors, and keeping pace with his teenage daughter and son, as well as his wife and her physical therapy career in the ALS and neurological populations.
